IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING OVERDRAFTS AND OVERDRAFT FEES An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway. We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:
What are the standard practices that come with my account? 1. We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. 2. We will charge you a fee of up to $25 each time we pay or return an overdraft. There is no limit on the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.

If you want to authorize Meriden Schools FCU to pay overdrafts on ATM and every day debit card transactions sign the below authorization and return it to the Credit Union. I want Meriden Schools FCU to authorize and pay overdrafts on my ATM and everyday debit card transactions. I acknowledge that I will be charged the standard overdraft fee for these transactions. FDIC PERMANENTLY INCREASES INSURANCE COVERAGE Basic FDIC Insurance Coverage Permanently Increased to $250,000 Per Depositor On July 21, 2010, President Barack Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which, in part, permanently raises the current standard maximum deposit insurance amount to $250,000. The standard maximum insurance amount of $100,000 had been temporarily raised to $250,000 until December 31, 2013. The FDIC insurance coverage limit applies per depositor, per insured depository institution for each account ownership category.
